Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty  (UAL), is a process using high-pitched sound waves for controlled tissue destruction. When fat is liquefied, it can be removed by suction primarily in areas such as the chin, neck, ankles, and calves.  First employed by dentists in the 1960’s, ophthalmologists also used ultrasound in surgeries on the cataract.  Ultrasonic devices may now be employed in your are now employed in your  Illinois liposuction surgery .

Illinois ultrasonic liposuction  is used internally for the suction cannula (a vacuum-like tube), for dissolving of body fat.  Your surgeon injects the tumescent solution, with the ultrasonic probe that vibrates, releasing energy at the end of the pump.  Often done for large volume surgery, the high frequency sound waves disintegrate the fat by cavitation. This is a process whereby the high frequency breaks the outer membrane of the fat cells, releasing the fat.  As if melting the fat, it is then easier to suction out of your body.

An external ultrasound machine can also send the sound waves through your skin to suction out the liquefied fat.  It has the following benefits, although not many doctors think this is needed:

This may result in greater weight loss for the patient as more fat is removed.  External ultrasound can melt fat in specific areas you choose, leaving a smooth curve or contour.  But UAL is not for the obese needing to change his or her lifestyle and eating patterns.
There is more skin shrinkage after surgery, so you will not need a ‘tummy-tuck’ or ‘body lifts’ afterwards.  Your skin ends up being tighter than that with the traditional liposuction.
UAL helps correct contour irregularities from previous surgery, or for more precise body contouring or fine-tuning.  It’s also said to be especially useful in melting the fat which is firmer around your buttocks and lower back.
The process is also effective for taking away folds in the lower abdomen and the back, although it will not improve stretch marks.

The risks from UAL include the same as those in traditional liposuction, with the possibility of serious burns and nerve damage to patients.  An inexperienced doctor can let the probe tip right under your skin, causing blisters or burns from the ultrasound, and you have to pay more too.  You may experience seroma, the fluid collection from the body which helps promote healing in the area.  Your body fills the cavity formed in fat removal with serum from your blood.  This is not dangerous, but you have to withdraw the fluid again and again with a syringe to collapse the cavity formed from the withdrawn fat.  UAL may also cause more numbness of the skin after the operation, but doctors who are experienced often avoid these complications.

Recovery period for patients depends on the amount of fat removed, and the area of the procedure on the patient.  Just remember you have to maintain your good figure through exercise and balanced diet on a regular basis.
